Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 1, 2026

Apptractor Development (“we”, “us”, or “our”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how Parlingo handles information when you use the app.

1. Information We Process

  • Microphone recordings: Parlingo can use your microphone so you can record and review your speaking practice. Recordings remain on your device. We do not upload them to our servers or share them with third parties.
  • Usage and analytics data: Google Analytics for Firebase may collect information about how the app is used, such as sessions, feature interactions, app version, device type, operating system, language, and general technical information.
  • Crash and diagnostic data: Firebase Crashlytics may process crash reports, app state, device and operating-system details, installation identifiers, and related technical information to help us diagnose reliability problems.
  • Performance data: Firebase Performance Monitoring may process app-start, screen-rendering, and network-performance information, together with technical identifiers and approximate country derived from an IP address.

Parlingo does not currently require an account or ask for your name or email address. It does not use PostHog, advertising services, subscriptions, or in-app purchases.

2. Local Speech Features

Parlingo uses text-to-speech capabilities available locally through your device. Text used for these speech features and your microphone recordings are not sent by Parlingo to a remote speech-recognition or artificial-intelligence service. Your device platform may govern its built-in speech capabilities under its own terms and privacy settings.

3. How We Use Information

  • Provide listening, recording, playback, and speaking-practice features.
  • Understand which parts of Parlingo are used and improve the learning experience.
  • Identify crashes, troubleshoot defects, and improve stability.
  • Measure and improve app and network performance.
  • Respond to support and privacy requests that you send to us.

4. Third-Party Processing

We do not sell your personal information. Google processes limited analytics, diagnostic, and performance information on our behalf through Firebase. Google may process that information on infrastructure located outside your country, subject to its applicable terms, privacy commitments, and safeguards.

You can learn more from Firebase Privacy and Security and the Google Privacy Policy.

5. Storage and Retention

Speaking recordings are stored locally and remain under your control. You can remove recordings through the app where that option is available, and uninstalling the app removes its local data subject to your device and backup settings. Firebase retains analytics, crash, and performance information according to Google’s retention practices and the settings configured for our Firebase project.

6. Your Choices

  • You can deny or withdraw microphone permission in your device settings, although recording features will then be unavailable.
  • You can delete locally stored recordings or remove the app from your device.
  • You can contact us to ask about your privacy rights, including access, objection, or deletion where those rights apply.

7. Legal Bases

Where laws such as the UK GDPR or EU GDPR apply, we rely on your permission to access the microphone, our legitimate interests in understanding and improving Parlingo and maintaining its security and reliability, and performance of our agreement with you when processing is needed to provide the app.

8. Children’s Privacy

Parlingo is not primarily directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly request names, email addresses, or other direct contact information from children. If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child has provided personal information through Parlingo, contact us so we can review and address the issue.

9. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information. However, no device, transmission, or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

10. Policy Updates

We may update this policy as Parlingo evolves. For example, we will revise it before introducing account features, cloud storage, advertising, purchases, or additional analytics providers. Changes will be posted here with a revised “Last updated” date.
